Reporting to the Food Service Manager the Dietary Aide plays a pivotal role in enriching the lives of residents by providing nutritious and delicious meals, that are prepared and served with love. This is a Part Time role with 30 hours biweekly, weekdays including a rotational weekend schedule, though extended hours may be required from time to time. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring high attention to detail and strong time management skills. The role includes regular use of computer systems and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
- Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
- Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
- Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
- Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
- Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
- Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player
- A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of hire date.
- Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months.
