Our aggregate products are crafted and shipped via rail from our reserves in north-central Alberta straight to the Edmonton market. We're excited to announce that our RROX division is seeking a friendly and dedicated LEAD HAND to join our team!
Responsibilities include:

Perform general labor work: shoveling, cleaning of equipment, oversee and assist with setting up conveyors, crushing equipment, washing equipment, and screening equipment, and other labor activities associated with the production of high quality washed aggregates, and/or crushed materials.

Operate heavy equipment and processing plants (once deemed competent, or in training under competent supervisor) associated with the production of high quality washed aggregates, and/or crushed materials:

Heavy Equipment: Excavator, skid steer, loader, railcar mover (with proper certification), conveyors
-
Processing Plants: Crushers, Wash Plants, Soil Cement Plants

Ensure “pre-trips” and all Daily Equipment Checklists are completed daily and any equipment concerns are addressed to your foreman.

Complete all daily (and any additional) maintenance on equipment required for continued safe functioning. This includes, but is not limited to, greasing pivot pins and fittings, and oil and filter changes.

Complete all maintenance logs, and daily equipment journals.

Complete daily inspection of all railcars for deficiencies and defects and report to the foreman.

Comply with all Traffic Laws & Regulations.

Efficiently move material: dumping, placing, loading and unloading of material to and from trucks and railcars, feeding processing plants, and yard clean-up.

Achieve efficient and correct output of material by proper calibration of all processing plants and equipment.
Crew Development:
- Set a positive example for the crew—encourage positive attitudes and crew harmony, demonstrate a willingness to learn, take direction and give direction.
- Aid in the training and development of other crew members as required by your foreman (or other supervisor).
- Ensure the crew is completing assigned daily tasks safely, thoroughly and efficiently.
- Over time, you will be assigned more responsibilities and accountabilities in order to develop your leadership skills as well as receive training in pursuit of providing qualified supervision at all RROX sites.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb, or crawl.
- Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds safely.
- Must be at work on time, ready to work long hours/overtime, and consecutive days, as scheduled or required.
- Must be able to perform all job duties in a wide range of (adverse) weather conditions.
- Valid and clean Class 5 (or higher) Driver’s License to operate company vehicles and equipment
- Must be willing to continuously learn and develop knowledge on all site equipment and processes to improve efficiency and ensure continued operations under any circumstances.

Pay Scale: $34 / hour
