Location: Oakville, ON

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + Benefits Vacation: 3 Weeks

Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization in the Oakville area, is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys strategic sourcing, supplier management, and working with key manufacturing commodities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage an annual purchasing spend exceeding $5 million. Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery. Purchase key manufacturing commodities, with a strong focus on cold rolled and hot rolled steel. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new sourcing opportunities. Analyze purchasing trends and identify cost-saving initiatives. Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Operations to support manufacturing requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing data and support continuous process improvements using ERP/MRP systems. Monitor supplier performance and assist with vendor development initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing an annual purchasing spend of $5 million or more. Strong purchasing experience with cold rolled and hot rolled steel. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills. Strong communication and relationship-building abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
