About the role
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our client’s small, dynamic team. In this role, you will lead financial operations, accounting, financial planning and analysis, payroll and benefits, reporting, audits, data management, and accounting system administration. You will communicate complex information clearly and provide excellent client service to staff, management, board members, auditors, funders, and vendors. You will manage competing priorities, support day-to-day requests, and adapt to the evolving needs of a fast-paced organization. While you won’t have direct reports, you will guide, mentor, and provide oversight to the finance coordinator. You take ownership of processes, are analytical, communicative, adaptable, and personable, and are comfortable wearing multiple hats as an analyst, accountant, and business partner. Reporting to the Director of Finance, your main responsibilities include:
- Lead quarterly meetings with budget managers and support budgeting and forecasting
- Guide financial decisions and their impact
- Consolidate and analyze results, cash flow forecasts, and reports for management and the board
- Prepare quarterly statements and maintain working papers
- Oversee AR/AP, payroll, and benefits, mentor the finance coordinator
- Prepare journal entries and complete bank and blank cash asset reconciliation
- Maintain confidential employee records, respond to finance-related questions
- Stay up to date on accounting standings and regulations
- Person to audit requests and manage confidential filings
- Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, reporting and controls, support system updates, and document process changes

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business administration
- CPA designation required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting for nonprofits
Assets:
- Previous experience in a nonprofit or charitable environment
- Previous experience with Sage Intacct
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $76,000 - $86,000 salary range
- Group insurance plan, 100% paid by the employer after 3 months
- 3 weeks’ vacation, Christmas to New Year's shutdown paid
- 10% payment RRSP after 3months
