Nicola-Similkameen School District recognizes

The
Nicola-Similkameen School District serves Merritt and Princeton, as well as
surrounding areas and 6 First Nations communities. The mountains, lakes and
valleys that hold the District provide an incredible natural setting for many
outdoor activities. We offer a warm, small-town culture where relationships are
fundamental to our shared successes. Princeton is in the beautiful Similkameen
Valley and has easy access to both the Okanogan and the Lower Mainland.
Princeton Secondary School is a grade 8 to 12 high school in
Princeton, British Columbia. The school's population is
approximately
190 students. Princeton Secondary School has
a staff that is committed to excellence in learning, works closely together as
a professional team, and deeply values the opportunity to create a vibrant
culture that engages students, staff, families, and the larger community. The
Principal of Princeton Secondary School is also responsible for the Bridge
Alternate program as well. Both learning communities strive for personal excellence in
a safe, inclusive, and caring environment, which actively motivates
intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development for lifelong
learning.

school setting.
A proven ability and

learners, parents, staff, community, and Indigenous and Metis Peoples.
A focus on instructional leadership, the improvement
of student learning, and the development of a positive and collaborative school
culture.
Experience
with secondary school curriculum, instruction, assessment, and programming.
An innovative vision for engaging every learner with a
goal of increasing success and life opportunities for all students.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Student
Support Services, and a proven commitment to advocacy and inclusion.
Collaboration with parents/guardians, teachers,
support staff, administrators, and district staff.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
that recognize the diverse communities that we serve.
Proven expertise in trauma-informed and Compassionate
Systems work and a deep understanding and proven practice of positive mental
health promotion.
Knowledge and experience in using technology to
enhance learning.
Modeled and supported continuous inquiry and
professional learning for self and others.
Found opportunities to challenge themselves and grow
as a leader in education.
A proven commitment to engaging with the community
beyond the school building and school day.
The
ideal candidate should possess:
Master of Education Degree in Leadership,
Administration, Special Education, Counselling Psychology, Curriculum, or related
degree.
B.C. Teaching Regulation Branch Certificate (TRB).
Successful school-based leadership experience.
Knowledge of provincial initiatives and resources.
A focus on success for every student.
Excellent teaching and instructional leadership
experience.
**Start Date:**August 24, 2026 or as mutually agreed.
The salary
range for this position is per the BCPSEA Regional Salary Model for Principals
- $148,816 to 165,664 per year.
