Position Overview
Calian is seeking licensed physicians to join our Health Services team in support of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). This is a fully remote opportunity, allowing physicians to work from anywhere in Canada, provided they are:

- In good standing with their provincial or territorial medical regulatory authority
- Covered by active professional liability insurance
In this role, physicians will conduct document-based medical and/or mental health assessments for foreign nationals who are subject to removal orders. These assessments help ensure safe and compliant travel in accordance with Canadian regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical and/or mental health documentation for individuals subject to removal orders.
- Conduct assessments based solely on provided documentation, medical records, and information obtained through contact with the individual’s healthcare providers (as needed).
- Prepare case-specific assessments and recommendations regarding fitness for travel.
- Provide functional advice, direction, and medical/mental health expertise.
- Develop written reports, recommendations, and briefings tailored to each case.
- Ensure assessments are completed within defined service standards:
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all relevant privacy, ethical, and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Licensed for Independent Practice in Family Medicine in Canada
- Active membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Must have a minimum 3 years of experience within the last 7 years performing the following tasks:

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Reliability level
- Must carry active professional liability insurance
- Must be in good standing with a provincial or territorial medical regulatory authority
