Description Stockyards YKF is located in the departure lounge at the Waterloo Region International Airport with flights flying across Canada and internationally. We are a busy quick service restaurant and retail store serving locally roasted coffee and crafted beer with varying hours depending on the flight schedules.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers with a welcoming and friendly demeanor
- Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent service
- Take orders accurately and efficiently using our POS system
- Process payments and handle cash transactions
- Prepare quick service food items following all Health and Safety regulations
- Prepare and serve food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages) promptly
- Always maintain safe and clean environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operation
- Adhere to all health & Safety regulations as well as all Transport Canada and Regional regulations.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced airport environment
- Able to obtain security clearance with Transport Canada and the Region of Waterloo (*Please note that you must have lived in Canada for 5 years to be eligible*)
- Flexibility to work various shifts including very early mornings, early afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays and in the event of a delay with any of the flights
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have (or be able to obtain) your Smart Serve certification & Food Safety Handling Course
- Reliable transportation to and from the airport as bus service is limited and the hours of the shifts don’t often line up
