Manager: Corporate & Community Engagement
About the role
Job Purpose
The Manager: Corporate & Community Engagement is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the OHS’s corporate partnerships and events programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate customized philanthropic and giving plans for current and prospective corporate partners, giving circles, and community fundraisers to meet annual revenue goals, including in depth research and qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship and activation
- Manage corporate donors and sponsors portfolio
- Determine short- and long-term tactics and strategies to achieve department and organizational strategic goals
- Develop and secure corporate funding to support key shelter programs, aligning with corporate social responsibility goals and ensuring sustainable support for critical initiatives
- Develop written and other materials to support both personal approaches and OHS leadership, and maintain accuracy of all related donor records
- Collaborate with Development colleagues to develop a stewardship and activation continuum for all donors
- Develop, strengthen and maintain relationships with corporate and individual community members to increase engagement and revenue from third-party events, peer-to-peer fundraising and community-placed collection boxes
- Analyze statistical data to determine trends and projections
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures within assigned functional areas
- Lead, plan and execute all aspects of OHS strategic fundraising and stewardship events
- Lead all aspects of OHS corporate giving programs
- Lead and manage department staff and volunteers including orientation, training, performance management, and daily supervision
- Support the Development team in planning and executing donor stewardship and engagement events
- Provide tactical expertise in fundraising events to third-party community event organizers
- Ensure best practices and consistency in donor communications in collaboration with the OHS development and communications departments
- Develop, manage, and ensure adherence to department program budgets
- Manage and coordinate department resources
- Manage external suppliers and partners
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of best practices and trends in fundraising and corporate stewardship
- Participate in public relations and promotional activities as required, including occasional media appearances
- Lead cross-departmental event teams, collaborating with Communications, Volunteers, Outreach and other OHS departments
- Participate in supervision, evaluation, training, and other meetings as required
- Be thoroughly familiar with and ensure adherence to pertinent legislation, regulations, contracts, guidelines, OHS mission, policies, procedures, plans and collective agreement
- Hire, fire and discipline staff in consultation with the Director: Strategy and Development and Director: People and Culture
- Be familiar with and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures
- Participate in the identification and evaluation of OHS program goals and objectives
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Serve as an ambassador for the OHS, working with OHS leadership to understand and communicate strategic priorities
- Provide advice and assistance to other managers, directors, CEO, and OHS Board and committees as required
- Produce and maintain accurate reports, records, and files
- May be required to assume some of the responsibilities of the Director: Strategy and Development
Qualifications
- Post-secondary school degree, diploma or certificate in a related field
- A minimum of 2 years’ management experience or senior supervisory experience of staff and/or volunteers
- Knowledge and experience in corporate partnership relations development and management
- Extensive experience in events and/or project management
- MPNL and/or CFRE an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with CRM database, Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required
- Proficiency in spoken and written French is an asset
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Employee may be required to work evenings, holiday and weekend shifts
- Employment is conditional upon maintaining a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Employment is conditional upon maintaining confidentiality of OHS information
- Employment is conditional upon the ability to work around all species of animals safe
