About the role

The Analyst, Asset Management is responsible for a range of asset management activities to preserve value and mitigate risk throughout the investment lifecycle of Kruger Energy. This includes assisting in post-financial close activities, monitoring asset performance, maintaining financial models, supporting internal and external reporting, and ensuring data accuracy across Kruger Energy’s different projects.

This role is ideal for a professional who is eager to build expertise in project finance and infrastructure asset management while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

The Analyst, Asset Management reports directly to the Lead Analyst, Corporate Finance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assisting in the onboarding of new investments, coordinating with internal teams and following established compliance procedures;
  • Ensures financial models are kept up to date across the asset’s lifecycle;
  • Manages debt and financial reporting obligations tied to existing lending facilities, including providing required financial and portfolio information;
  • Prepares and updates investment performance materials; actively participates in the budgeting process and in preparing periodic financial and operational reports;
  • Assisting with system implementations, process improvements, and other initiatives that enhance the Kruger Energy’s asset management capabilities;
  • Collaborates with Accounting, Operations and other internal teams on periodic reporting and monitoring activities;
  • Gathers data and prepares summaries of financial and operational information on the company and the industry on an ad hoc basis;
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously and works effectively both independently and as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • University degree in business administration/commerce, finance or accounting ;
  • Minimum 2-4 years of practical experience in project finance, corporate finance, investment banking or a related field;
  • CPA or CFA designation is an asset.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving abilities;
  • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and data management concepts is an asset;
  • High sense of urgency and prioritization capabilities;
  • Analytical thinking and execution;
  • Highly organized, structured and procedural;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to deal with staff at all levels on site, at head office and with representatives of financial institutions;
  • Quality orientation and time management;
  • Insightful decision making and judgment;
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and positive team spirit.

LANGUAGES

  • Bilingualism essential: spoken and written (English - French)

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them. Kruger has taken all reasonable steps to avoid imposing English language requirements, including assessing the actual language needs associated with the duties to be performed, ensuring that the language skills already required of other employees were insufficient for the performance of those duties, and limiting as much as possible the number of positions with duties requiring English language skills.
