Contract Position - Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm
Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Associate plays a critical role to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of Flanagan’s inventory control management processes. This position is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and works closely with the warehouse team to support returns, cycle counts, receiving issues, and pallet investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily cycle counts and receiving issues for products with accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct produce checks, stock pulls, and checks.
- Arrange slotting for new products as required.
- Handle customer returns and adjustments.
- Evaluate product returns against paperwork and follow appropriate actions and procedures.
- Maintain quality control areas and assess products for reclamation, re-stock, disposal, donation, salvage, supplier return, etc.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Communicate product reclamation and supplier related items (with photos), to purchasing for processing.
- Assemble products for salvage, donation, and/or disposal as required.
- Collaborate with salvage/donation partners to arrange pick up of goods.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment including End-Rider, Reach Truck, Order Picker, and hand-held scanner.
- Enter data into Warehouse Management System, and use computer to maintain accurate information.
- Follow safe and efficient work procedures to meet customer requirements including maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Complete and keep up to date on all Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality Assurance training pertinent to the role
- Responsible for reporting any and all concerns related to the Health & Safety, safe handling and integrity of all items received, stored and distributed by Flanagan Foodservice
- Adherence to all Health & Safety, Food Safety and WHMIS practices
Required Qualifications:
- Previous Warehouse experience including receiving, order selection, put-away, and replenishment.
- Demonstrated experience in the safe operation of warehouse equipment including End Rider/Reach Truck/Order Picker.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of FWS Application preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application including Excel.
- Strong problem solving and ability to think strategically.
- Experience and working knowledge of Flanagan Forms Applications preferred.
- Positive attitude, Team Player with respect for co-workers and customers.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including repetitive lifting, and occasional lifting up to 80lbs.
- Must be able to work in a multi-temperature environment including freezer (Temp. -20F);
Unique Requirements:
- Physical demands of the position require the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, lift up to 80lbs on an occasional basis, lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis, and work in a multi-temperature environment (freezer -20F).
- High level of accuracy.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations in a calm, diplomatic manner.
