Job Description: Sun Life Securities Canada Inc. (SLCSI) is enhancing its wealth management platform to support full-service dealer capabilities. We are seeking Senior Consultant, Wealth Products with strong product knowledge and experience within IIROC/CIRO dealer environments.

Reporting to the Director, Product Strategy & Management, this role supports product shelf management, investment product governance, and the implementation of SLCSI’s SMA/UMA platform.

The Senior Consultant, Wealth Products ensures product data accuracy, supports day-to-day SMA/UMA activities, enables advisor capabilities, and assists in daily suitability processes in collaboration with Tier 1, Tier 2, and other stakeholders.

What your will do: Support Director, Product Strategy and Management with the development, launch, and day-to-day operations of the Managed Platform (SMA/UMA)

  • Support daily SMA/UMA platform activities, including model onboarding, implementation tasks, and coordination with internal/external partners.
  • Ensure accurate product data, investment objectives, risk ratings for all model holdings.
  • Assist in operationalizing new product capabilities and enhancements.

Support the governance and management of the dealer’s product shelf:

  • Manage day-to-day product shelf activities, including tagging of securities for fee billing purposes and maintaining product accuracy.
  • Support the development of product policies and materials required for governance committees.
  • Support the due diligence review of firms and individual products for approval on to the product shelf
  • Prepare and maintain firm-level reporting for product approval and oversight committees.

Provide advisor support and enablement across the product shelf and SMA/UMA platform.

  • Interface with advisors on investment selection, portfolio construction, SMA.UMA capabilities, and product-related inquires.
  • Support advisor education, and training, including participating in platform pitches and preparing product materials.
  • Onboard new advisor facing capabilities such as research tools, investment tools, fund managers, and platform enhancement.

What you need to succeed:

  • CFA or other investment related post-graduate education is an asset.
  • Deep understanding of various investment products is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Extensive experience with UMA/SMA or portfolio management platforms and ability to customize them to meet specific needs.
  • 7+ years of investment dealer experience
  • University degree, in Finance related field is preferred

Preferred skills:

  • Work collaboratively with legal, compliance and operations teams to resolve product-related issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills in forming trusting, candid relationships with internal stakeholders, APMs and PMs and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated presentation skills (advisor-facing presentations, either small group or main stage)
  • English/French bilingualism is an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
