We are looking for a responsible, highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic Building Operator to provide Operations & Maintenance services to the LLRIB Health Services community Clinics and Facilities. About the position: The Building Operator contributes to the health team by providing daily operations, maintenance and monitoring of building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for all LLRIB Health Services clinics/facilities. The Building Operator will report directly to the Operations & Maintenance Supervisor and will work with LLRIB Public Works & Housing staff on a regular basis.

  • Monitor LLRIB Health Services building systems in all five (5) communities in La Ronge, Hall Lake, Grandmothers, Bay, Little Red River, and Sucker River;

  • Perform routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment;

  • Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance, repairs, cleaning and inspections to all building systems;

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building equipment and components;

  • Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues;

  • Oversee LLRIB Public Works & Housing staff, contractors or vendors performing specialized repairs or projects and ensure proper service work documents are completed;

  • Ensure building operations comply with building codes, regulations and safety standards;

  • Assist with maintaining fire safety systems and emergency equipment;

  • Maintain clean and organize mechanical rooms and workspaces;

  • Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, or landscaping coordination;

  • Maintain logs, checklists, and maintenance records;

Qualifications: Building Operator Certificate (Level 1), or Power Engineer certificate preferred; Technical training in building systems is an asset and/or a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered; 2-5 years of experience in building operations, facilities maintenance or a related field;

Strong organizational skills and able to manage time and priorities; Ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams; Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders or walking long distances; Must have basic computer knowledge and able to prepare weekly/monthly reports; Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset; Ability to speak/understand the Woodland Cree is an asset; Must have a valid drivers license and be able to travel in different weather conditions.
