About the role
Your Opportunity:
The main purpose of this role is booking and reception. This role manages incoming referrals and books appointments for a staff of 30 clinicians who work out of the Medicine Hat sites within Chronic Disease Management in the Southeast zone. This position will navigate incoming referrals as appropriate and consult with Clinical Team Lead when necessary to ensure timely access to services. This role will support all AHLP programs: Diabetes, Cardiac Rehab, Supervised Exercise, Weight Management, Chronic Pain and COPD. As front line reception for the AHLP site, this role attends and assists patients and members of the public as they arrive and is responsible for answering multi-line telephone and directing calls appropriately. Included in the daily duties would be attending patients in Connect Care, booking and rebooking appointments as needed and navigating inquiries to the appropriate person as well as completing reminder calls. Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Administrative support experience required with minimum of 2 years experience specific to health care environment. Experience must be within a team and role of similar size and complexity. Strong critical thinking skills, exceptional multi-tasking skills. Strong organizational skills, time management skills, including prioritization. Must work well in a team environment, have good interpersonal skill, conflict resolution skills and team building skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Office admin or unit clerk course preferred, although experience will be considered. Experience with Connect Care required, specifically role of Schegistar and Referral Coordinator.
