About the role

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M1) to join our growing team specializing in general aviation aircraft. The ideal candidate combines strong technical proficiency with a commitment to safety, precision, and craftsmanship. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of aircraft systems, contribute directly to the reliability and performance of our clients’ aircraft, and play an integral role in the continued growth of our Transport Canada certified AMO. As part of a small, dynamic team, you’ll have the independence to work hands-on and the opportunity to help shape the organization’s future — including potential partnership and leadership opportunities as we expand.

Duties

  • Perform assembly and disassembly of aircraft parts utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools.
  • Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting on aerospace hardware, including avionics and electrical systems.
  • Oversee heavy lifting operations safely during assembly or maintenance tasks.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to improve existing systems and develop new solutions for aerospace applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving manufacturing, repair, and system upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations throughout all phases of work.

Qualifications

  • Valid Transport Canada AME Licence (M1)
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Strong technical proficiency across general aviation aircraft systems
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and safety-focused

Experience

  • Experience in environments related to aerospace or mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems, avionics, and schematics interpretation.
  • Background in assembly, maintenance, or mechanic roles within aerospace or heavy machinery sectors.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems for work order management and maintenance tracking.
  • Knowledge of schematics reading and electrical wiring diagrams essential for system troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience working with heavy lifting techniques and safety protocols in industrial settings is preferred. This position offers an engaging environment for professionals passionate about aerospace engineering with a focus on hands-on technical work and innovative system development.
