Our students are the next inventors, leaders, scientists, and innovators. They are curious, driven, and passionate about their interests. We are a neuro-inclusive school with students who are primarily considered gifted or Twice-exceptional.
What are we looking for?
We are inviting applications for the full-time French teacher and Education Assistant (Grades K-8) position. This position will combine teaching and acting as an education assistant across all classrooms in our school. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about working with gifted learners and understands their social-emotional and academic needs. Responsibilities
- Teach French to elementary students from Grades K-8
- Plan and implement engaging lessons to teach students French language and culture
- Ability to implement assessment for, as and of learning
- Report on students’ strengths and areas for growth
- Communicate regularly with parents about student learning and goals
- Nurture students’ academic, social and emotional growth
- Participate in leading/coaching extra-curricular clubs and activities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate French in engaging, age-appropriate ways.
- Provide in-class and small group support as an Education Assistant across grade levels.
- Lead and facilitate a drama/acting club for interested students.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and student well-being.
- Implement individual support strategies.
- Assist with indoor and outdoor supervision duties as needed throughout the school day.
Qualifications
What you have to have:
- BC Teaching Certificate
- Bachelors of Education
- Minimum 3+ years of experience working with diverse learners, including gifted students and students on the spectrum
- Background or interest in drama/theatre and leading extracurricular activities. This role will also lead our extracurricular drama/acting club.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting students in Grades K-8 both as a teacher and an E.A.
What we would love:
- Teaching certification with the British Columbia Teacher Regulation Branch
- Experience working with Gifted and Twice-Exceptional learners ranging from grades K-8
- Independent School experience
Salary and Benefits
- $60,000 - $65,000 annually based on experience
