POSITION TITLE: Early Childhood Educator (Salmon Arm)
SUPERVISOR: SWITZMALPH CHILD CARE CENTRE ADMINISTRATOR
TERM: FULL – TIME

**Job Summary: **
Switzmalph Child Care Centre is seeking energetic and qualified full time Early Childhood Educators to work at our center. Positions available are for infant/toddler, preschool, and 3-5-year-old daycare programs. Early Childhood Educators will provide quality and inclusive programming in a group setting supporting children and families.
**Experience: **
- Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
- Knowledge and understanding of cross-cultural issues that impact the Secwepemc First Nation community.
- Knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- Demonstrating understanding of the development of children and their mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Demonstrating an understanding of inclusivity of children with special needs.
- Encouraging children’s learning and positive development of their self-concept.
- Appropriately guiding and supervising children in various settings.
- Supervising children’s indoor and outdoor activities ensuring required safety standards according to licensing are met.
- Possessing excellent written and oral skills as well as interpersonal skills**.**
- Ability to maintain healthy collaborative working relationships with members of staff, community, and other representatives from various organizations.
**Education & Qualifications **
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to attend professional development courses annually
- Completion of an early childhood education certificate program
- Must have current first aid and food safe certificates
- Valid BC ECE certificate will be an asset.
- Clear criminal record check.
**Conditions of Employment: **
- A valid Early Childhood Education Certificate
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Ability to obtain a doctor’s certificate ensuring health is adequate for position
- Letters of reference (3)
- Immunization Status
- Valid Food Safe certificate
