Responsibilities:
- Prepare fresh-cut fruits and vegetables and assemble ready-to-eat items such as parfaits and stir-fry mixes.
- Stock and rotate produce items in displays, coolers, and storage areas, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including back rooms and display areas.
- Conduct quality checks, remove damaged or expired products, and assist with packing customer orders.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers and responding to inquiries in person and over the phone.
- Always follow proper food safety and handling procedures.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up displays and cleaning equipment.
- Track and communicate daily waste and product levels to the production team.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces as required
Qualifications:
- High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in retail, food handling, or produce is an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and freshness.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in English required; French is considered an asset.
Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Benefits: After completing the 3-month probationary period, employees are enrolled in our Group Benefits which include Medical & Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, Maple Program and access to our staff only gym. After 1 year of employment, employees are eligible to enroll in our Group RRSP program.
Location of Work: 79 Queen Street; Sioux Lookout, ON P8T 1A1
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Hourly Rate: $17.20 -$21.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. (This does not include the cost for a full trailer move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc.).
Housing: Below-market value employee housing may be available, subject to availability.
