Description

Manage the full lifecycle of municipal water and wastewater treatment projects from pre-construction through commissioning. Oversee process mechanical scopes including piping systems, treatment process equipment, pumping systems, valves, and associated infrastructure. Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and risk management activities. Review mechanical designs and specifications to identify constructability improvements and value engineering opportunities. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal construction teams to ensure successful project delivery. Monitor project progress, costs, schedules, quality standards, and resource allocation. Provide technical leadership regarding equipment installation methodologies, process piping layouts, and mechanical system integration. Collaborate with field personnel to resolve installation challenges and support efficient project execution. Participate in client meetings and maintain strong relationships with municipal owners, consultants, and project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, applicable codes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Prepare and review change orders, project forecasts, progress reports, and project documentation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on project delivery efficiency and operational excellence. Profile

A successful Mechanical Project Manager should have: Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 10+ years of Project Management experience within mechanical construction, industrial construction, water/wastewater infrastructure, or related sectors. Strong understanding of process mechanical systems, piping installations, pumps, valves, treatment equipment, and industrial mechanical assemblies. Practical knowledge of how process equipment is physically installed, connected, tested, and commissioned within operating facilities. Proven experience identifying value engineering and constructability improvements on complex projects. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and construction documents. Strong project controls experience, including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and contract administration. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to bridge field operations and project management functions. Experience within municipal water and wastewater treatment projects would be considered a strong asset. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is an asset but not required.

Job Offer

A competitive salary of $130,000 to $170,000 CAD, commensurate with experience. Long-term career growth within a stable and specialized infrastructure organization.
