About the role
We’re looking for a experienced Accessibility Quality Engineering Lead to join our Quality Assurance team within our Winnipeg Office OR Remote.
This role is responsible for ensuring our products meet and exceed accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA minimum) while embedding accessibility into design, engineering, QA, and release processes. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on accessibility testing expertise with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and institutionalize accessibility best practices across the SDLC.

What You'll Do
Test Planning & Execution
- Design and implement comprehensive accessibility test plans aligned with project risk, release timelines, and product complexity.
- Develop and execute both manual and automated accessibility test cases, and conduct accessibility audits across digital platforms and user interfaces.
- Perform assistive technology testing and validate key accessibility behaviors such as keyboard navigation, focus management, semantic structure, dynamic content handling, and accessible form interactions to ensure inclusive and compliant user experiences.
Tooling & Automation Integration
- Integrate accessibility testing into automated development and delivery pipelines to ensure continuous validation throughout the SDLC.
- Implement and maintain automated accessibility scans and develop supporting automation where feasible to prevent regressions.
- Collborate with QA and automation teams to embed accessibility checks into broader regression suites and track accessibility metrics and trends to support ongoing quality and compliance improvements.
Design & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner with design and engineering teams to ensure accessibility is considered early in the development process.
- Review wireframes and prototypes, provide early feedback to prevent rework, and guide teams on accessible implementation practices.
- Conduct accessibility design reviews prior to development to support compliant and inclusive solutions.

What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of hands-on accessibility testing experience.
- Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2oWAI-ARIAoA/AA/AAA conformance levels.
- Experience testing web, mobile (iOS/Android), and digital documents.
- Strong debugging skills using browser dev tools.
- Ability to interpret DOM structure, ARIA roles, and accessibility tree behavior
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
