We are looking for a Procurement Analyst to support the Rio Tinto Aluminum BC Works business unit. In this role, you will support the Services Specialists in managing categories, contracts, and delivering value to Rio Tinto Business Units. By utilizing Rio Tinto’s sourcing methodology, you will help achieve safe, efficient, and effective outcomes that deliver the best total value. Reporting to the Procurement Business Partner, and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:

  • Collecting and generating information and quality data about the sources and drivers of value creation through procurement;
  • Handling and supporting projects and contracts including contributing to value delivery through the deployment of best practices, procurement tools and negotiation skills.
  • Engaging, communicating, and influencing internal and external stakeholders at operational levels (Superintendent, Manager, and Company representative).
  • Providing analytical and commercial support to peers and Category Specialists.
  • Working closely with other Procurement team members, both globally and within regions, to align sourcing requirements and outcomes with business needs;
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers;
  • Operating supplier performance management processes;
  • Managing day-to-day integration processes with suppliers;
  • Fostering trust through open, transparent relationships and effective supplier management.

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • 2 years’ experience in Procurement preferred
  • A Degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce, Legal, or Technical fields preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively
  • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly grasp, various supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Experience with SAP and Ariba systems
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment

The base salary range for this role is $88,800 - $133,200 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, and health benefits. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role. Our talent acquisition partners can share more during the hiring process.
