Our Values Trust Responsibility Excellence Navigating Change Candor Humility Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Student to join our team for a paid internship or co-op placement. The Payroll Student will support our Payroll team with day-to-day payroll administration, employee inquiries, benefits and pension administration, and month-end and year-end activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate, looking to gain hands-on experience in payroll operations, HR administration, and employee support.

Your Tasks: Assist with maintaining and updating employee information in Dayforce. Respond to employee inquiries and provide support related to payroll, benefits, and pension plans. Support payroll administration activities, including data entry, record maintenance, and document management. Assist with the administration of employee benefits and pension plans, including enrollments, updates, and employee communications. Provide administrative support for payroll-related processes and reporting. Assist with payroll-related payables, invoice processing, and reconciliations. Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including data validation and reporting. Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and other payroll documentation. Ensure employee records are accurate, complete, and up to date. Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information at all times. Participate in special projects and other payroll-related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, Payroll, Finance, or a related field. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with payroll systems; Dayforce experience is considered an asset. Working knowledge of payroll, benefits, and pension administration is considered an asset.
