Sony Imageworks is seeking an Operations Coordinator!

Summary:
This is an associate role reporting to the Manager of Studio Operations. The candidate must have prior hospitality experience with excellent communication and problem solving skills, be able to follow instructions, work independently, be detail oriented, and have great customer service skills. Prior operational experience is preferred and hospitality experience is required. Please note this is a full-time in-office position.
This position supports the day to day operations of the studio and our Barista station.

Below is a list of the type of duties and skill required:

What you'll be doing:
The following tasks provide a general overview of the types of activity the role holder will be expected to engage in on a day-to-day basis. The tasks are not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities as the nature of our business requires all employees to be flexible, self motivated, and to think creatively when presented with challenges:

Coffee Bar:

  • Complete opening tasks to prepare for Barista service
  • Provide quick and prompt service
  • Work as Barista preparing and serving specialty beverages
  • Clean up and restock as needed at the end of each service
  • Monitor and replenish coffee supplies in other kitchen areas through the day
  • Maintain vendor relations in regard to supply ordering and equipment maintenance
  • Track and order based on par levels, while being able to predict changes to accommodate in office needs

Kitchens and Staff Areas

  • Prepare weekly office orders (supply, grocery,).
  • Stock and maintain all consumables in common kitchen areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of staff areas by cleaning and restocking supplies as needed
  • Assist with in studio events by helping with set up, execution, and clean up
  • Work alongside production to support events in kitchen spaces as needed

Additional Day-to-day Items

  • Assist with in office moves
  • General studio upkeep (boardrooms, common areas, studio sweeps)
  • Outside vendor relationship management
  • General administrative duties, such as printing, copying, scanning
  • Monitor and action site specific tickets through Fresh Service
  • Work closely with production in regards to studio support
  • Assist in daily execution of shipping, receiving, and other mailroom related tasks

What we need to see:

  • Previous hospitality experience is a must as this is a customer facing position that requires past knowledge surrounding food and beverage service.
  • Excellent multi-tasker
  • Detail-oriented
  • Extremely organized
  • Independent worker but also be highly collaborative and able to work in a team
  • A desire to learn and grow
  • Able to maintain professionalism when speaking with internal and external stakeholders through email, chat, and phone calls
  • Thrives in a, at times, high pressure environment and perform time sensitive tasks
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavier items, possibly up to 20lbs

Requirements:

  • Current legal right to work in Canada
  • Must be 19 years or older
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week plus potential overtime and weekend work.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $18.37/hour to $22.98/hour. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
