As a key member of our Fibre Team, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of Harvest Planning and Operations. You’ll lead and support a team of talented professionals and contractors to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable harvesting of timber, while optimizing cost, quality, and productivity. This role is Full-time, Monday-Friday work schedule based in beautiful Mackenzie, BC providing the opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive team environment.
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Manage employee and contractor safety, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide ongoing training and coaching to your team.
- Operational Excellence: Plan and execute annual road, harvest, and post-harvest programs, overseeing remote camps, and water log-transport operations.
- Cost & Quality Optimization: Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance log value while meeting mill requirements and targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, local government, communities, and other industry partners.
- Team Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your team, supporting their professional growth and fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Participate in the development of annual budgets and rolling monthly outlook projections to ensure cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

Education: University Degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry or Natural Resource Management (RPF or RFT designation preferred).

Experience: At least 10 years of experience in forestry, including experience supervising harvesting and hauling activities.

Skills:
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong project management capabilities
- In-depth knowledge of BC forestry legislation and policies
- Proficiency in forestry technologies and software
- Strong work ethic, and a love for the outdoors!
