About the role
Overview The Warehouse Operations Lead has general responsibility to assist in coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for directing work assignments in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Available Shift: Saturday & Sunday: AM shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) + Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: PM shift (4:30 PM to 11:30 PM)
Responsibilities
- Work closely with shift leadership to accomplish shift goals
- Oversees and coordinates warehouse processes such as receiving, put away, picking, and loading of products.
- Directs work assignments to employees
- Provide daily hands-on support in Material Handling and Forklift responsibilities
- Drives compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives
- Brainstorms and suggests new ideas on how to improve processes to supervisor
- Communicates professionally, both orally and written, to internal and external partners
- Communicate problems, concerns, and ideas to management; assists in finding solutions to problem areas.
- Ensures efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment
- Trains new and current employees on operational SOPs and WIs
- Ensures the warehouse is clean and orderly; including but not limited to organizing and rotating inventory, maintaining product labels, sweeping warehouse, and assist in staging orders for delivery
- Ensure product is stored safely and in the proper place.
- Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse
- Additional duties as assigned by the warehouse supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Experience with Warehouse Management System
- Computer applications using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- Good visual acuity to inspect shipments.
- Ability to input data on the computer to create a daily inventory report.
- Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying items received.
- Strong time management, organizational, planning and self-motivation skills.
- MHE experience or desire to learn MHE.
- Must have attention to detail
- Must have excellent customer service skills
