This position is in the Management/Excluded Group with a salary of $109,795.00 - $137,244.04

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the incumbent manages the Nutrition & Food Services Department, and has the responsibility, authority and accountability for its physical, financial and human resources; overseeing the delivery of food services to hospital patients, staff, contracted services and general public; advising Territorial departments and community groups on matters relating to clinical nutrition services; provides nutrition and food service support to all Yukon Hospital Corporation facilities (YHC); providing professional development and training to all levels of staff, students, other professionals, paraprofessionals and technical staff; and performing other duties
Knowledge and skills required for this position:

Strong knowledge of the science of nutrition as it applies to general nutrition:

Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures as they apply to the management of nutrition services in a health care institution;

Ability to manage, plan, organize, implement and control a dietary service in a primary health care hospital;

Ability to work independently and problem-solve, as well as within a primary health care team;
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.

Demonstrated skills in working with diverse patient populations.

Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Comfortable with computer software, and willingness to learn Computrition Software, Meditech, UKG and other electronic medical records.
The successful applicant is required to have a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in nutrition, dietetics, commerce or relevant related field or commensurate experience; 3-5 years of supervisor or management experience in a hospital setting. Master’s Degree in Nutrition or Hotel and Food Administration and experience with a computerized diet management system is desired.
