About the role
The Production Scheduler plays a crucial role in our manufacturing facility by effectively coordinating and optimizing the production schedule. This position involves analyzing customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity to create an efficient production plan. The Production Scheduler collaborates with various departments to ensure timely completion of orders, minimize downtime, and maximize overall productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and update production schedules based on customer orders, capacity, and inventory levels.
- Work with Sales, Operations, and Procurement to gather information and schedule orders accurately, considering materials, lead times, and machine capacity.
- Track production progress and flag any issues or bottlenecks that could affect timelines.
- Adjust schedules as needed to keep orders on track and manage shifting customer priorities.
- Share schedule updates in S&OP meetings and keep all teams aligned.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain Coordinator to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Keep kanban and safety stock levels accurate and up to date.
- Work with Maintenance to plan preventive maintenance with minimal disruption.
- Continuously review and improve scheduling efficiency, machine utilization, capacity planning, and lead times.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date data in the ERP system, including schedules, dates, documentation, and performance metrics.
- Provide regular schedule and performance reports to Leadership.
- Participate in meetings related to production planning, capacity growth, and process improvements. Support and drive continuous improvements in ERP and scheduling tools.
Qualifications: A College Diploma or University Degree in a related field is preferred, including:
- Supply Chain Management.
- Operations Management.
- Production or Manufacturing Technology.
Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment may also be considered.
Employment Details:
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.
- Wage: Dependent on experience and skill set.
