About the role

Looking for a career where you can make a real impact? As a Solutions Analyst at StarTech.com, you'll be at the heart of our most exciting initiatives, driving projects from the first idea to final delivery. This isn't just a desk job; you'll be the crucial link between our business and technology teams, blending the strategic thinking of a business analyst with the hands-on leadership of a project manager.

If you're passionate about solving complex problems, thrive in an agile environment, and want to lead projects that directly shape our future, we want to hear from you. Come join us in London, Ontario, and help build the technology that powers our success.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Business Analysis & Requirements Management

    • Elicit and Document Requirements: You'll partner with stakeholders to conduct interviews, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to gather and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
    • Translate Business Needs into Actionable Stories: You'll translate business requirements into clear, concise user stories that focus on customer value, while also drafting technical stories to capture the necessary backend and system-level work.
    • Define Acceptance Criteria: Define clear acceptance criteria to ensure the team has a shared understanding of both the "what" (user value) and the "how" (technical implementation) of the work.
    • Inform Work Item Prioritization: Work closely with business and IT leads to refine and prioritize the work item backlog, ensuring it's always up-to-date and aligned with the strategic goals of the business.
    • Support Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing: You'll inform the QA and UAT teams by helping coordinate testing efforts, tracking feedback, and clarifying any questions that arise, ensuring the final product meets all business requirements.
    • Drive Organizational Readiness: You'll inform organizational readiness by conducting impact analyses to understand how new features affect existing workflows and roles, and by helping create training content and communication strategies.
  • Project Governance & Execution

    • Create and Maintain Project Plans: You'll develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure all initiatives are delivered on schedule and within financial constraints.
    • Manage Formal Change Requests: Oversee the formal change management process for the project, including documenting, assessing, and getting approvals for any material changes to scope, schedule, budget, or resources.
    • Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: You'll manage the coordination of all project activities across various departments and stakeholders, including IT, business, and external partners.
    • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating to senior leadership when necessary.
    • Manage External Vendors: Oversee the work of external vendors and consultants, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Agile Leadership & Team Facilitation

    • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: You'll lead and facilitate all agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to promote team efficiency and continuous improvement.
    • Remove Impediments: Act as a servant leader to the team, actively identifying and removing any blockers or obstacles that prevent the team from meeting its sprint and project objectives.
    • Provide Status Reporting: Prepare and present detailed project status reports and key metrics (e.g., burn-down charts, velocity) to senior management and key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a combined Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Business Analyst role.
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects in a dynamic environment.
