Title: Security Architect

Job Overview Reporting to the Director of IT, as the Security Architect you define and maintain thestrategic security architecture, mitigating threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You also implement security solutions, assess risks, and promote a culture of security awareness through continuous improvement and education.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
- Maintaining strategic security architecture vision, including reference architectures and frameworks that are aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Understanding current as well as emerging security threats and design security architecture to mitigate threats where possible.
- Responding to and investigating security incidents and providing thorough post-event analyses.
- Maintaining advanced knowledge of regulatory, industry, security, and privacy standards. Making recommendations to security policies, directives, and guides to ensure Qualico’s security program evolves to new standards.
- Assessing, recommending, designing, and implementing security products and services.
- Identifying and risk assessing control strengths/weaknesses and opportunities for improvement of current/proposed infrastructures.
- Maintaining security and compliance audits, internal/external penetration analysis, and vulnerability research.
- Reviewing existing architecture, identifying design gaps, and recommending and implementing security enhancements.
- Cultivating a culture of security awareness and arranging continuing education of employees to ensure policies are always adhered to.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to other members of the Cybersecurity team.

Essential Requirements
- 10 years of experience in the IT industry, in which 5 is in cybersecurity.
- Post-secondary education and training in IT is required.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Advanced knowledge in the following is required: Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Backup/Recovery strategies, LAN/WAN Network Architecture, Virtualization technologies, Firewall/VPN’s.
- Advanced understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT security certifications are an asset.
- Project Management experience is an asset.
