We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45+ years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as a SQL/Oracle Database Developer, in our Financial Services Sector in Toronto.
We are looking for a Database – SQL/Oracle Developer, with 8+ years of experience in database development in the Banking and finance domain.
Location - Downtown Toronto (Hybrid - 2 to 3 days per week) subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database objects including tables, views, indexes, sequences, and constraints.
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures to support business applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support existing Oracle-based applications, implement enhancements, and troubleshoot database-related production issues.
- Perform unit testing and support system and integration testing activities.
- Assist in deploying database changes across environments (Development, QA, UAT, Production) and maintain proper version control of code changes.
- Work closely with business analysts, application developers, and DBAs to deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
- Prepare technical design documentation, maintain code documentation, and participate in code reviews following development best practices.
- Ensure adherence to organizational security standards and data governance policies.
- Implement secure coding practices and maintain appropriate access controls within the database environment.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Strong experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
- Knowledge of Oracle database architecture
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization
- Familiarity with Oracle tools (SQL Developer, TOAD, etc.)
- Understanding of data modelling concepts
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
