Role Overview
As the Site Services Supervisor, you are the frontline champion of the "First Impression." You will lead a dedicated team of Janitorial Associates to ensure that every square inch of Wet n' Wild Toronto, from the splash pads to the change rooms are in pristine, safe, and welcoming condition. This isn't just about cleaning, it’s about managing the logistics, people, and standards that keep the water park running smoothly during the high energy summer season.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Operations
- Scheduling: Create and manage weekly staff schedules, ensuring optimal coverage during peak hours, holidays, and special events while managing labor costs.
- Supervision: Provide active, on-the-ground leadership. Train new hires on sanitation protocols, chemical safety (WHMIS), and guest service excellence.
- Enforcement: Conduct frequent "white glove" inspections. Ensure that washroom checklists are completed accurately and on time, maintaining a high standard of hygiene throughout the day.
- Supply & Inventory Management
- Inventory Tracking: Maintain a rigorous count of all janitorial assets, including cleaning agents, paper products, and PPE.
- Procurement: Oversee the ordering process for supplies. Coordinate with vendors to ensure we never run out of essentials during a heatwave, holiday weekend or events.
- Equipment Care: Monitor the condition of equipment: pressure washers, and vacuums and scheduling repairs or replacements as needed with maintenance
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all team members follow health and safety guidelines, specifically regarding the handling of biohazards and cleaning chemicals.
- Respond quickly to spills or maintenance issues to prevent "slip and fall" incidents.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2 years in a supervisory role (janitorial, custodial, or hospitality experience preferred).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting and staff coordination.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to spend the majority of the shift on your feet, outdoors in various weather conditions, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays (mid-May through September) approximately 40 hrs a week
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting (lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This position requires occasional work in or around water, confined spaces-cramped quarters, heights, noise, large crowds, detergents/chemicals, mechanical hazards, moving objects, fumes/odours, dust, mists, gases, or vibrations. The noise level is generally moderate.
