What is the opportunity?
As a member of the Family Office Services (FOS) team within RBC Wealth Management, the Communications Assistant will support content, communications and team initiatives across multiple channels and formats. In this role, you will work collaboratively with colleagues in FOS, project stakeholders, and business partners, contributing to various work streams. You will also support project intake and coordination, carry out proofreading/editing/writing for a range of materials, and provide administrative assistance throughout content development and production.
What will you do?
- Assist with editorial and communications efforts in support of team and business initiatives (internal and external), including, articles, brochures, guides and fact sheets, presentations, memos and internal team communications, event collateral, video scripts, intranet copy, and internal promotional copy.
- Provide project support and coordination; assist with planning, content development and production, reviews and tracking, and roll-out.
- Contribute to editorial process (e.g. research, writing, editing/proofreading) for a range of internal and external materials on wealth planning topics, ensuring adherence to RBC Wealth Management editorial and brand standards.
- Assist with video development, including planning, scripting, coordinating shoots and recording sessions, and reviewing video edits.
- Provide administrative support for various aspects involved in the creation, publishing and promotion of materials. This includes consultation and collaboration with content providers and project stakeholders, planning and executing based on project objectives and target audience, incorporating feedback and revisions, final file preparations, tracking and records keeping, and coordinating for publishing/posting.
- Collaborate with internal partners, external partners and third parties as required.
- Support with special projects, virtual events and other assignments as required.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have

University degree or post-secondary education from a recognized institution in communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Excellent verbal, writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.

Demonstrated skills in organizing and coordinating projects, managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
-
Ability to work confidently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
-
Team player who works collaboratively with project teams and business partners.
Nice to have
- Experience within financial services industry
- Knowledge of editorial and production processes, and familiar with CP style and using in-house style guides.
- Exposure to traditional publishing, video development and/or event planning is an asset.
