About the role
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a good background in mechanical systems, construction, and sheet metal fabrication, with the ability to perform complex installations, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC systems. Will need the skills and experience to manage small to medium commercial and residential projects, ample experience in changing furnaces as well as strong experience in commercial and residential service work. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require technical expertise and precision. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems while adhering to safety standards and project specifications.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including ductwork and sheet metal components
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute precise installations
- Perform welding and fabrication of sheet metal parts as required for various projects
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to HVAC, plumbing, boilers, and appliances
- Collaborate with team to ensure seamless integration of HVAC components within building frameworks
- Use mechanical knowledge to diagnose system failures and implement effective solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and materials used
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all phases of installation and repair work
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC mechanic or sheet metal journeyman with a strong understanding of mechanical systems
- Skilled in welding, plumbing, boiler operation, and appliance repair
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC installation and maintenance
- Mechanical knowledge with a focus on troubleshooting complex systems
- Prior experience working with HVAC units, ductwork fabrication, and system schematics is essential
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a medium to fast-paced environment
- Valid construction or trade license preferred but not mandatory depending on experience
This position requires a dedicated professional committed to quality workmanship and safety standards. Candidates should possess a comprehensive skill set that includes mechanical aptitude, construction knowledge, and hands-on experience with HVAC systems.
Pay: $21.00-$35.00 per hour
