Job Summary Ainsworth Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Service Electrician to join our service & small projects team based out of our Surrey and Vancouver offices. The Service Electrician will be involved in all aspects of electrical service work for our existing customers and building new business, primarily in the commercial, institutional and mechanical markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations
- Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
- Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces
- Splice, join and connect wire to components to form complete control systems
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
- Willing and available to work after hours and as required
Qualifications
- A certified Red Seal Electrical Journeyperson with at least 5 years experience.
- Good understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code. FSR-A or FSR-B is an asset
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety
- Experience or knowledge of Infrared Scanning and Electrical Preventative Maintenance is an asset
- Well organized, team player, strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Skilled at electrical trouble shooting and problem solving
- Capable to supervise electrical journeyman and apprentices when required
- Able to work in an exciting fast paced positive environment
- Willing to work after hours and as required.
- Ability to speak, read and write English fluently and able to maintain legible/accurate paperwork
- Must have a valid driver's license and hold a clean driving record
Must be a member of the IBEW 213 Union or willing to become one. All hiring is subject to IBEW 213's dispatch process. Salary range: Compensation through the IBEW 213 Collective Agreement plus great benefits and pension.
