**Teacher Teaching On-Call (TTOC) **

St. Thomas More Collegiate, a progressive co-ed Blessed Edmund Rice Christian Brother Catholic Independent high school in Burnaby, B.C., is seeking experienced and qualified educators in the Applied Skills, Christian Education (Religion), English Language Arts, the Fine & Performing Arts, French, Mathematics, Physical & Health Education, Science, and Social Studies for our External Teacher Teaching On-Call (TTOC) list for the 2022-2023 school year. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of our young Knights.

Potential candidates must be a member, or be in the process of becoming a member, of the British Columbia College of Teachers. The school also looks favourably upon those candidates that are willing to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.

Letters of application, accompanied by a resume, and the names of two referees, will be accepted throughout the school year. Interviews to commence upon review of application. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

**Applicants will have the following qualifications, experiences and abilities **:

  • Must either hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate, be in the process of applying, or be eligible for an Independent School Teaching Certificate.
  • Undergraduate degree in a teachable area.
  • A comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in the BC Ministry of Education documents.
  • Excellent oral, written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.
  • Foster supportive relationships with students and families.
  • Implement a range of authentic learning assessments that provide timely feedback to students and a clear direction for parents.
  • Knowledge of differing learning needs and a toolbox of strategies for facilitating student success.
  • Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Be an active and positive participant in the co and extra-curricular life of the STMC school community.
