What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Director, Centralized Applications, Automation, and Governance, the Compliance Officer, Technology Governance is responsible for performing important analytical functions to support CIBC’s Capital Markets Compliance program and drive efficiencies through modernization initiatives resulting in capacity creation and, where applicable cost savings or cost avoidance. The Compliance Officer is primarily responsible for assisting with (i) centrally (and globally) managing Capital Markets Compliance’s technology applications and automation including ensuring the appropriate governance over those systems, (ii) supporting some monitoring and testing activities for the Capital Markets Compliance (CMC), (iii) CMC’s obligations in meeting enterprise data governance, data management and record management requirements.

How you’ll succeed
- Technology Solutions Administration – Assist with the administration of technology solutions utilized by CMC to meet its regulatory obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborate with vendors, Risk Management, and Technology Teams to ensure the successful management of technology releases, enhancements, defect resolutions, and production issues for CMC’s technology solutions.
- Business Managed Technologies Oversight – Oversee the maintenance and policy adherence for Business Managed Technologies (BMTs) and process automations.
- Trade Surveillance Optimization – Provide advice to trade surveillance teams on optimizing the use of applications and technology for monitoring purposes.
- Advanced Analytics Support – Deliver advanced analytics support in maintaining established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Data Management Compliance – Ensure adherence to CIBC’s data management policies.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate experience in management reporting. You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You’re proficient in using PowerPoint and Excel. You have a Proven track record of developing KPIs and KRIs. It’s an asset if you have project management experience.
- It’s an asset if you have prior Regulatory Compliance Management, strategy or consulting experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- 4-year undergraduate degree;
- Minimum 0-2 years of capital markets experience;
- Strong data analytics skills;
- Proficiency in VBA and Python;
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel;
- Familiarity with global financial markets, trading practices and regulatory requirements;
- Ability to assist with Compliance technology projects;
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel;
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to maintain working relationships with senior management;
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
