Advancement Coordinator, Edwards School of Business

Primary Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Advancement Coordinator to support the growth of our donor pipeline, retain existing donors, and engage our alumni network. This role is essential in ensuring the fiscal responsibility of our donor programs and strengthening the relationship between the Edwards School of Business and its supporters.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

• Donor Relations & Stewardship: Assists in communicating the impact of donor contributions, ensuring a high level of engagement and retention. Reviews, audits, and manages donor pledge processes

• Donor Reporting: Manages donor reporting processes, ensuring transparency and accountability in how donations are utilized

• Event Coordination: Plans and executes alumni-based events that foster engagement, such as networking receptions, panel discussions, and mentorship programs

• Communications & Marketing: Develops donor impact reports and newsletters to highlight the impact and importance of giving and alumni involvement

• Database & Record Management: Maintains accurate donor and alumni records in the CRM system, tracking interactions and contributions

• Alumni Engagement: Develops, coordinates, and manages projects and events aimed at connecting with alumni, students, faculty, donors, and the broader community

• Celebrate Alumni: Monitors the news, LinkedIn, and other sources to learn about alumni’s achievements and engages with them through LinkedIn messenger, emails, and phone calls. Updates website and social channels with alumni updates and news stories

• Data: Performs regular data collection through surveying, micro-surveying, informational interviews, and phone calls to continuously adjust the strategy to best fit the wants of alumni. Collects data on alumni interests to determine an opportunity for engagement with the college

• Awards Management: Reviews, audits, and manages the student impact and donor management for the Edwards awards program.

• Communicates and acts in a respectful and professional manner, collaborates effectively, abides by policy, and contributes to a positive and productive work and learning environment

• Engages in continuous learning by participating in activities, training, and events related to Indigenous engagement, reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion

• Demonstrates respect and dignity for all members of the community, actively contributes to an environment of acceptance and inclusion of others, and responds to different perspectives from a place of curiosity, respect, and non-judgement

• Undertakes related duties, as assigned, consistent with the nature of the position

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of three years’ directly related experience, preferably at a post-secondary institution. Demonstrated expertise in student recruitment, enrolment management, marketing and/or management is essential.

Skills:

• Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including diplomacy and tact with enthusiastic professionalism in dealing with people
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Cold-calling experience is a plus
• Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organization skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $53,091.00 - 82,954.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
