About the role

Our Story

Kathairos Solutions is a leading and rapidly growing North American clean tech company, bringing decades of knowledge, resources, and experience into developing the innovative solutions of tomorrow, for the changing energy industry of today. We have developed a simple solution to one of the industry’s major challenges in reducing emissions, and it is being adopted at a staggering rate across the US and Canada. We are committed to attracting, developing, and retaining top talent to support our strategic objectives.

Your Opportunity

As a Quality Assurance Analyst at Kathairos, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our Atlas IoT and data platform. You’ll work hands-on across the full testing lifecycle—designing and executing both manual and automated test cases, validating IoT data integrity, and ensuring seamless integration across systems. As a motivated self-starter who takes initiative, manages work independently, and proactively drives testing and quality improvements forward with limited direction you will have endless opportunities to collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify issues, enhance automation frameworks, and strengthen overall product quality. You’ll be working with cutting-edge IoT and cloud technologies to help deliver meaningful environmental and operational insights that drive real-world impact at scale.

Your Responsibilities

Test Planning, Execution & Regression

  • Design and execute manual and automated test cases for new and existing Atlas features.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure product stability across releases.
  • Log, track, and collaborate with developers to resolve software defects.

IoT & Data Integrity Validation

  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of telemetry data from field IoT devices.
  • Simulate real-world conditions (signal loss, sensor drift, low battery) to ensure reliability.
  • Confirm end-to-end data flow and synchronization between devices and dashboards.

Automation, Integration & Performance Testing

  • Develop and maintain automated UI, API, and data test suites.
  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct load and performance testing to assess scalability and responsiveness.

Security, Compliance & Quality Governance

  • Validate user access, encryption, and audit trails in alignment with SOC 2 standards.
  • Support emissions reporting and compliance testing (EPA, OGMP).
  • Contribute to QA process improvements and tool optimization initiatives.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain QA documentation, metrics, and release sign-off records.
  • Analyze defect trends to recommend quality improvements.
  • Participate in retrospectives to drive continuous learning and efficiency.

What you offer

Required (Must Have)

  • 3–5 years of QA experience in SaaS, IoT, or data-driven software environments.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test design, and defect management (Azure DevOps, Jira).
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Postman).
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud services (Event Hub, Cosmos DB, Functions).
  • Working knowledge of Python including creating Junit tests for data validation.
  • Experience executing regression and integration testing within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and collaboration skills.

Valued (Nice To Have)

  • Experience with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, Locust).
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, EPA, OGMP).
  • Familiarity with IoT device simulation, telemetry data validation, or industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with Azure Application Insights, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Background in environmental, energy, or emissions data systems.

About Kathairos Solutions

Oil and Gas
11-50

Our name means 'clean air,' and our mission is methane.

Kathairos completely eliminates methane venting at remote oil and gas well sites by using liquid nitrogen – an inert, non-polluting fuel – to operate pneumatic devices. In doing so, the system replaces the need for methane as instrument gas, and the subsequent venting of this highly potent greenhouse gas during routine well site operation.

The technology is profoundly simple, reliable and cost-effective when compared to mitigation solutions requiring solar, battery, generator and air compressor system combinations. The nitrogen storage tank is simply plugged into the existing methane fuel system, and operations begin. The Kathairos solution works flawlessly in all weather conditions, has no power requirements, moving parts or complexity, and relies simply on the law of thermodynamics to operate.

The technology has seen unprecedented adoption across 17 North American shale basins with more than 55 major oil and gas producers. Due to the highly scalable and economical nature of the solution, Kathairos is able to service an unparalleled assortment of well sites, locations and vent rates, with system deployment in six weeks or less.

Kathairos is proud to partner with Canadian producers to understand their decarbonization goals, plans and progress, and help them meet incoming zero vent regulations while earning valuable emission offset credits.

Over the last 12 months, Kathairos has mitigated more than 40,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions from our customer’s operations – the equivalent of 660,000 trees planted in a single year. We are just getting started, and invite you to check out our rolling GHG abatement tracker at https://ghg.kathairos.com.

Kathairos’ unprecedented Canadian and US expansion is driven by both voluntary and regulatory emission reduction targets, as the energy industry collectively moves toward lower emission practices and ambitious decarbonization goals.
