EIC Shared Services Inc. (ESS) is a subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation (EIC), a diversified, acquisition-oriented corporation focused on opportunities in the aerospace, aviation, and manufacturing sectors. EIC Shared Services provides finance and accounting services to several subsidiaries within EIC’s Aviation segment including Calm Air International, Perimeter Aviation, Keewatin Air and Custom Helicopters, among others. Our group consists of approximately 70 people, and we are looking to add another motivated professional to join our team.

Role Description

The Sr. Payroll Administrator has several years of payroll administration experience and is directly responsible for ensuring accurate, complete and efficient preparation of payrolls. Other duties of this position include the development and maintenance of accurate and timely payroll reporting and internal documentation. Individual will communicate directly with employees and managers, working together to ensure the payroll is as accurate as possible. The incumbent also performs other duties and projects as assigned by the Manager of Payroll.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collect, verify, input, and process payroll information as received.
  • Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for the administration of group insurance benefits and retirement plans.
  • Maintain and update employee information relating to pay, attendance, vacation, overtime, leaves and benefits as required.
  • Prepare payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, such as pension plans, group insurance premiums, ROE’s, garnishments, union dues, and other statements.
  • Prepare, balance and reconcile period-end reports and remittances.
  • Monitor all work agreements and union contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and benefit-related issues.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and adhere to all applicable regulations, legal standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Hours of work:

  • Full Time – Monday to Friday

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: Payroll processing, current federal legislation and Dayforce.
  • Skilled in: Applying complex salary and compensation calculations. Effectively communicating both in writing and verbally, and spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Able to: Analyze and interpret data for accuracy, work effectively with diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably at a senior level
  • Proficient with Dayforce
  • Extensive experience with ADP may be considered
  • Post-secondary education in payroll, accounting, finance, business or human resources an asset
  • Completed PCP or CPM designation an asset.
