We’re looking for a shipping coordinator for our large-scale distribution centre. This role is for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and turns operational complexity into streamlined execution.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor management tools / performance indicators related to deliveries.
  • Manage priorities to ensure operations remain aligned with targets set by management.
    • Target goal: 99.5% on-time delivery (targets may change over time).
  • Plan shipments and schedule appointments using the Outlook calendar, including transportation providers, through customer portals and any other
  • Manage drivers: welcome, obtain signatures, provide documents, and ensure they comply with company rules.
  • Print, manage, and archive all shipping-related documents.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Warehouse Director to address any issues affecting targets.
  • Handle claims (creation and follow-up) and resolve other shipping-related issues.
  • Ensure procedures are followed and maintain productivity of shipping processes; notify the supervisor if productivity decreases.
  • Always keep the shipping area and workstations clean and safe and lead by example (pass the broom, clean desk..)
  • When tasks require additional capacity or could be improved, notify the supervisor.
  • Work with other departments to resolve issues and respond to their requests.
  • Train new shipping employees.
  • Perform shipping and loading tasks when other responsibilities are completed.
  • Perform any other duties requested by the supervisor.
  • Be trained on other warehouse positions to provide coverage when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education in administration, inventory management, mathematics, accounting, logistics, or another operations-related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • English, both spoken and written. French is an asset.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, and intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Forklift operator certification (training will be provided on-site if not already obtained).

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Self-motivated, organized, analytical, and detail oriented.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and constantly evolving environments.
  • Previous warehouse experience.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with Microsoft Access and ERP/MRP systems is considered an asset.
