Location: Montreal (In-Office) The Opportunity We are seeking a Portfolio Associate (PA) – Marketing & Distribution for IP (Podcast & Video) to join our Montreal office and support the coordination, outreach, and distribution of Valnet’s podcast and video intellectual property. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive candidate who wants hands-on experience securing access, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities for our IP. You will collaborate with editorial and distribution teams and marketing agents to coordinate releases, maintain relationships with partners, and ensure smooth access to assets and promotional opportunities. This position offers exposure to top-tier media brands, experience working across multiple formats, and a chance to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced media portfolio.
Responsibilities IP Distribution & Sponsorship
- Partner with content, sales, and marketing teams to identify and coordinate high-impact sponsorship opportunities across podcasts and video IP, helping develop innovative integration strategies that elevate brand partnerships and drive revenue growth
- Optimize and innovate distribution pipelines for all IP, identifying new channels, partnerships, and platforms to expand reach and drive visibility beyond standard on-site and YouTube publishing.
- Develop various commercialization strategies for our existing IP and any new projects developed.
- Contribute to the ideation and execution of new, brand-relevant IPs that support audience growth and unlock additional marketing and partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create sponsor packages and ensure IP opportunities are “sold” and delivered effectively.
- Maintain relationships with distributors, studios, and partners to ensure ongoing access to content, talent, and promotional opportunities.
Project & Operational Support
- Manage day-to-day coordination of IP campaigns, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Coordinate the internal flow of promotional assets, invitations, and partner materials.
- Maintain partner lists, contact sheets, and calendars to support long-term relationship and access management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Research
- Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure IP opportunities are effectively utilized across the portfolio.
- Monitor studio calendars, platform schedules, festival cycles, and entertainment news, incorporating distribution and access relevance.
- Conduct research on competitors, emerging trends, and distribution opportunities to inform strategic outreach and partnership initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, sales, content distribution, operations, or digital media.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, or related field.
- Experience with podcasts, digital video, or content distribution is a strong asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with project management and productivity tools such as Google Workspace, Excel, Slack, and similar platforms.
- Passion for entertainment, podcasts, and digital media.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
