We are looking for a North America Seeds & Traits Stewardship Manager - Canada to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Canada.

The North America Seeds & Traits Stewardship Manager - Canada will lead the execution of the Global Seed Stewardship and Event Program in all internal areas of the company and third parties (under contract) in the region that handle seeds throughout the entire product life cycle (from R&D to commercialization and possible discontinuation) and in all possible stages of approval of such materials (conventional, unauthorized/regulated, non-commercial/stewardship licensed, and commercial licensed).

As a North America Seeds & Traits Stewardship Manager - Canada, you create chemistry by...

  • Building trust, motivating and empowering Seed Stewardship and Event Program stakeholders (internal employees and third parties) for proper execution and compliance with the requirements of the Seed Stewardship program and events associated with their day-to-day activities.
  • Planning and executing the annual activities, typical of the Seed Stewardship Program and Events, to be carried out within North America (Canada, United States), such as carrying out visits/inspections/audits, moving seeds, reviewing contracts, training, among others.
  • Facilitating a unified understanding of Seed Stewardship Program requirements among all internal and external stakeholders by leading effective training and educational initiatives. This ensures standardized practices across the region, aligning with global industry standards such as Excellence Through Stewardship® (ETS) and ISO 9001:2015, and supports business continuity and operational excellence..
  • Generating and facilitating strategic relationships within the company, with third parties and other external organizations to streamline processes and optimize communications. Maintaining a proactive and collaborative attitude to promote synergies and add value to the company.
  • Supporting business decisions through assertive, timely and duly justified advice with a special focus on the genetic integrity of BASF products and business continuity.
  • Providing global visibility of activities and results within the region, through effective and periodic reporting/communication of the same.
  • Managing the budget of the area through correct planning of activities and evaluating the needs of the company.

If you have...

  • BS required, MS preferred (Biology, Agronomy, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Entomology, or Plant Pathology).
  • Solid experience in agricultural biotechnology and the seed business.
  • 8 years of Experience in Regulatory Affairs, Research and Development, Genetic Improvement or Seed Production.
  • Experience in the implementation of Integrated Management Systems, quality assurance and control associated with the agricultural market and plant biotechnological materials.
  • Scientific knowledge required in plant biotechnology techniques; quality assurance and control of plant biotechnological materials, agriculture and plant improvement.
