About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Senior Accountant to join our team on a one-year maternity leave contract, with potential for extension. This role is ideal for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced SaaS environment and enjoys both operational ownership and cross-functional collaboration. Reporting to the Global Head of FP&A, you will oversee day-to-day finance operations, manage external accounting support, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will play a key role in strengthening processes, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering with stakeholders across the business.
What you will do
- Manage outsourced accountants and partner closely with the Senior Accountant
- Prepare monthly financial reports and close month-end within 5 business days
- Prepare all working papers supporting balance sheet accounts at month-end, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Prepare detailed revenue breakdowns by customer
- Own the twice a month payroll process and oversee sales commission calculations
- Filing of various compliances including GST, PST, T4s, RoE, EHT and WCB
- Maintain daily cash forecasts and provide regular cash reporting
- Partner with Customer Success Managers to reduce debtor days, particularly for enterprise customers
- Assist with invoicing and billing queries from Customer Support and Customer Success Managers
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors; collate and prepare required documentation
- Coordinate with global counterparts to manage and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting accuracy
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Prior experience supervising or coordinating accounting functions (direct or indirect oversight)
- Strong understanding of month-end close, payroll, revenue reporting, and cash management
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
