Brief Description:
This position is responsible for overseeing and executing all inventory planning/forecasting processes while managing the Planning Associates and ensuring high fill rates while achieving inventory turn targets. His/her responsibilities include developing supply strategies, including annual and monthly forecast budgets, driving continuous improvement projects, Sales and Operations Planning for finished goods, key components, and deployment. S/he collaborates with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and other Supply Chain partners.
Key Work Performed
Demand Planning / Forecasting:
Oversee monthly forecasting process including heavy collaboration with sales
Facilitator of S&OP process including monthly consensus meetings
Execute monthly DRP planning as well as inventory budgeting (yearly) and inventory forecasting (monthly) Monthly forecast, inventory accuracy and fill-rate analysis to ensure the achievement of established KPI’s (Fill rate, Inventory)
Develop, implement, facilitate and communicate CPFR (Collaborative, Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment) strategies with key retailers
Work with Marketing on new product introductions, pricing and promotions to ensure application of key events into the forecasts. Build projected scenarios for input into strategic product line decisions
Deployment / Inventory Management:
Ensures supply of product to fill orders on time with optimal inventory levels at minimal cost
Monitor production schedules, orders and monthly targets to ensure proper inventory levels by product to satisfy customer demand.
On-going analysis, communication and proactive management of Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventory
Reporting:
Management of Planning team. Establishing goals, ensuring tools & guidance is provided to meet fill rate requirements
Review Weekly Consumption / Short to Order / Fill Rate – Cut Reports and make necessary call outs to Sales / Customer Service on sku shorts / risks / cuts / shipment delays / etc..
Review POS reports for highlights on sku / product risks.
Meetings / Communications:
Weekly / Bi-weekly Production site meetings to review current production plan /capacity constraints / raw component material constraints / logistics concerns, etc.
Monthly CPFR meetings with key retailers
Leads Weekly & Monthly S&OP meetings:
Monthly Meeting to review rolled up forecasts across all customers, focusing on forecast variances period over period. Weekly touch base on product shorts, demand variation & promo calendar adjustments
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum five years of overall manufacturing, logistics, or planning experience in a leadership role at a consumer products company
Experience using SAP, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and JDA or similar planning systems
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building relationships and collaborating across multiple operations and corporate support functions
Track record of building a high-performing team to succeed in a demanding, fast-moving, and growth-oriented atmosphere
Understanding of Cross Functional roles and responsibilities related to S&OP Planning, forecasting and the required outputs
Proven project management, problem solving, and organizational skills
Skills and Abilities:
High degree of accuracy and superior attention to detail
Strong organizational and follow up skills
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Superior time management – ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and meet critical deadlines
Good Change Agent / Adaptable & Flexible
Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems to determine resolution independently
Must exhibit initiative and demonstrate effective process improvement skills
Physical is limited to those normally associated with other support positions in the company e.g. standing, walking and sitting, often for long durations at the computer
The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $96,700.00 - $120,900.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs.
