Position Summary
Wakefield Canada is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Marketing. This executive role will be responsible for leading Wakefield Canada's brand, marketing, and communications strategy with a primary focus on driving growth for Castrol – Canada's #1 selling motor oil – as well as Wakefield's portfolio of complementary products and services. This executive role will shape the strategic direction of the brand in Canada, strengthen partnerships with retail and service channel customers, and deliver innovative marketing programs that win with consumers, trade partners, and industry stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership: Define and execute Wakefield Canada's marketing vision and brand strategy, aligned with corporate growth objectives and global Castrol brand guidelines.
Brand Management: Champion the Castrol brand in Canada, ensuring its continued leadership position while building equity for Wakefield's portfolio of products and services.
Channel & Trade Marketing: Develop and implement marketing programs tailored for retailers, service providers, and industrial channels, supporting sell-through and customer engagement.
Consumer Marketing: Drive awareness, preference, and loyalty for Castrol among Canadian drivers through impactful advertising, digital engagement, sponsorships, and partnerships.
Innovation & Insights: Leverage market research, consumer insights, and category data to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation in a competitive marketplace.
Team Leadership: Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and collaboration.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver integrated business strategies that achieve financial and market share objectives.
Performance Measurement: Establish KPIs, track ROI, and ensure continuous improvement of marketing investments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven track record (10+ years) in senior marketing leadership roles, preferably in automotive, consumer goods, or related industries.
- Deep experience with brand management, trade marketing, and integrated marketing communications.
- Strong understanding of Canadian retail and service channels in automotive aftermarket or consumer packaged goods.
- Demonstrated success in building and executing consumer-driven strategies that deliver measurable business results.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a bias for action and ability to balance long-term brand building with near-term business performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
