About the role
Established multi-site Childcare Operator seeks an Assistant Supervisor for a vacant position at the Baycrest Child Care Centre location.
Position: Contract – 18 months
Qualifications and Requirements: Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency Registered and in Good Standing with The College of Early Childhood Education Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR – AED Level C Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements
Skills Required: Warm and Energetic individual who has the ability to work with Children of all ages, experience with any age group is an asset. Must possess strong initiative and organizational skills and have a positive attitude Must comply and enforce with Teacher/s all the requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Public Health, Toronto District School Board, Assessment for Quality Improvement, Ideal Child Services Group Policies and Procedures including Staff Code of Conduct; Dependable and Flexible - arrives on time and ready to commence work as scheduled Communicate effectively and professionally with Children, Staff and Parents, ICSG Management, and any other Governing Agencies Must have general knowledge of Childcare Operations and have the ability to operate the Centre in the absence of the Supervisor Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment. Has the ability to implement an Early Childhood Program as per requirements set out by governing agencies Maintain Room control with positive Behaviour Management Strategies Ability to plan and implement an Early Childhood Education program for all ages Strong command of the English language (both spoken and written) Excellent writing skills which includes the ability to draft communication to Parents, Staff and Governing Agencies Ability to maintain accurate record keeping Proficient in Microsoft Word for creating and formatting documents, including memos, letters and reports. Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for data entry, organizing information and creating spreadsheets for tracking expenses or inventory.
Assets: Working Knowledge of the Lillio Application (Parent Portal)
Hours of work: 8 hours/day [40 hours/week] Centre Hours of Operation are 7:00am – 6:00pm
