Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Technical Platform Manager - Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), and following established governmental guidelines and regulations, the incumbent is responsible for conducting magnetic resonance (MRI) examinations for the RI-MUHC clinical studies, such as the studies of Dr. Marie Brossard-Racine and Dr. Pia Wintermark.

General Duties

  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as per the clinical research protocol and the imaging manual in newborns at day 2 of life, in babies and children during natural sleep (CIM),
  • Receives and prepares research participants,
  • Explains the exam to parents,
  • Ensures security around the magnetic field and conformity of equipment,
  • Upload image to PACS or other methods as requested by the research team of the study,
  • Meets the research teams, on request,
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Field of Study: Radio diagnostic specialization

Work Experience: ☒ Yes ☐ No

Minimum 1 Year Of Experience In MRI. Professional Membership: ☒ Yes ☐ No

If yes, please specify: Member of the « Ordre des technologues en imagerie, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec » (OTIMROEPMQ)

Required Skills

  • Very high flexibility for schedules (unpredictable end of work shift),
  • Excellent organizational skills, multiple priority management and multitasking,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work alone,
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in French and English.

Additional information

Status : Temporary Occasional.

Pay Scale : $24.40 to $45.29. Commensurate with education and work experience.

Work Shift : Variable. Generally Tuesday and Friday evening, as well as Saturday and Sunday daytime or evenings /early night, approximately 2 to 6 times per months according to the needs of the studies.

Work Site : Glen Site.
