Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. We have always been a strong proponent of “partnering”, working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineers at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project. Ganotec continues to position itself towards the future, constantly seeking growth opportunities yet never losing sight of what has made the company so successful.Location CanadaResponsibilities As a Senior Safety Specialist, you will:Implement and uphold company-wide environmental health and safety programs at the project level, ensuring a proactive safety culture.Collect, analyze, and interpret data concerning workplace illnesses and accidents, identifying trends and recommending preventative measures to minimize risks.Conduct systematic inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and verify compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.Monitor and coach employees on safe work behaviors, promoting continuous improvement through guidance and corrective actions when necessary.Develop comprehensive safety training materials and presentations tailored to project-specific needs, enhancing workforce knowledge and adherence.Manage training records through an effective system to track completion and compliance with safety initiatives conducted internally or by external consultants.Interpret relevant safety legislation and standards to ensure project activities maintain strict compliance with governmental and company requirements.Deliver engaging safety training sessions, including orientations, fall protection, confined space procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and respiratory protection programs.Serve as a liaison with Occupational Safety and Health regulatory authorities during inspections or site visits, ensuring transparent communication and adherence to required actions.Qualifications To excel in this role, candidates must possess:

A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related discipline is preferred. 10+ yearsof experience Proven expertise managing comprehensive safety programs across complex projects, with a demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives and foster a culture of prevention. In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard evaluation, record-keeping protocols, and injury management processes. Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, to manage documentation and reporting requirements efficiently. Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to balance multiple priorities with attention to detail and timely execution. Strong interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication, to engage all levels of personnel and maintain productive working relationships. A conscientious work ethic complemented by the ability to operate independently and collaboratively within diverse teams. Physical capability to access various construction site locations under diverse climate conditions and environments, including periods of sitting, standing, walking, and active listening. Flexibility and readiness to relocate and travel as required to meet project demands and contribute to multiple site safety operations. Other Requirements:

Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
