Struggle Is Your Success (S.I.Y.S) is an innovative, Black-led, human-centered nonprofit supporting youth ages 14–25 from diverse communities, including BIPOC and newcomer backgrounds, through entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial mindset development programs, mentorship, and innovation and financial literacy. We empower young people, both those facing systemic barriers and youth in the community, to build confidence, unlock opportunity, reduce youth recidivism, and develop the next generation of inclusive leaders.

Role Description
This position is a contract role as a Facilitator, located in Calgary, AB, and is conducted on-site. Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging workshops for youth centered on entrepreneurship and personal development. The Facilitator will guide participants in developing skills, foster a supportive learning environment, and cultivate motivation. Additional duties include collaborating with team members, evaluating workshop outcomes, and ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
Qualifications
- Strong facilitation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse group of participants'
- lived experience
- Experience in educational program delivery, workshop planning, or youth mentoring
- Proficiency in relationship-building and creating inclusive, collaborative environments
- Understanding of entrepreneurial principles, business planning, or creative thinking strategies
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with non-profit organizations or youth-focused programs is a plus
- Flexibility to adapt approaches and activities to meet the needs of diverse participants
