About the role

The Warehouse Shipper/Receiver is responsible for coordinating the accurate and efficient flow of goods in and out of our Calgary warehouse. This role ensures all shipments and deliveries are processed correctly, inspected for quality, and documented according to company standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, physical capability for repetitive lifting, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.

This position is vital to supporting company logistics, inventory accuracy, and vendor relations.

Shipping Duties

  • Prepare the shipping dock and organize outgoing shipments.
  • Match and verify products against shipping orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspect products for proper labeling, packaging, and saleable condition.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely.
  • Load shipments securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Create and maintain daily shipment schedules and documentation.
  • Track shipments, verify delivery receipts, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Receiving Duties

  • Receive incoming goods and verify against purchase orders or manifests.
  • Inspect incoming products for quality, accuracy, and damage.
  • Record and label received items appropriately in the system.
  • Communicate any discrepancies, shortages, or damages to the Warehouse Manager or Procurement.
  • Unload and organize products in designated storage locations.
  • Update inventory records promptly to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Maintain communication with vendors and carriers regarding delivery schedules.

General Warehouse Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and report issues promptly.
  • Assist in scheduling freight appointments as required.
  • Support other warehouse operations, including transfers and internal deliveries, when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and overall operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Must have steel-toed boots and comply with all safety standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel, email, and inventory systems).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Reliable and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
