Summary of Position
The Events Operations Supervisor provides friendly, responsive service to create exceptional food and wine experiences for all guests.
This position supports the day-to-day coordination of hospitality and event operations by maintaining accurate records, assisting with scheduling and communications, supporting billing and administrative workflows, ensuring the smooth execution of planned activities, fostering a positive team environment, and ensuring service standards are executed consistently across the estate — including events, the Entourage Room (tastings and food service), and the Outdoor Grill.

Duties & Responsibilities
Guest & Event Experience
- Oversee setup, execution, and closing of events
- Lead pre-event setup (room readiness, floor plans, signage, equipment, vendor/staff readiness)
- Coordinate post-event teardown (reset, inventory return, cleanup coordination, close-out)
- Work closely with the Event Management Team in operational planning and execution
- Deliver exceptional service to all guests, ensuring a welcoming and memorable experience
- Assist in daily operations across retail and hospitality spaces while balancing fiscal objectives
- Coordinate across events, Entourage Room support, and Outdoor Grill as required
- Troubleshoot in real time (guest issues, timing, vendors, last-minute changes)
Time Allocation:
- Set-up & Teardown – 20%
- Execution & Supervision – 60%
- Recording, Reporting & Administration – 20%
Leadership & Staff Support
- Act as Manager-on-Duty, overseeing staff and estate operations during assigned shifts
- Supervise staff to ensure daily goals are achieved, and responsibilities are effectively delegated
- Maintain service pace, quality control, and guest recovery standards
- Create an integrated, motivated, collaborative, and positive work environment
- Coach and mentor team members, encouraging internal growth and skill development
Administrative Duties
- Assist with billing and accounts receivable for internal and private events
- Support POS operations and ensure documentation accuracy
- Maintain event notes, incident tracking, and feedback capture
- Complete post-event recaps and operational reporting
- Utilize organizational systems and documents to ensure consistency (floor plans, transfer sheets, event orders, etc.)
- Support scheduling coordination and internal team communications
Qualifications Education
Minimum Required
- High School Diploma
Preferred
- Post-secondary education
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams
- Able to quickly learn new software
Experience
- 2–3 years of events and/or hospitality operations experience
- Experience supervising teams in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Experience supporting food and beverage service (including elevated tasting experiences) is an asset
- Experience with event execution, service flow, and on-site troubleshooting
- POS experience and exposure to billing/accounts receivable processes is an asset
Certifications
- Smart Serve certification (required)
- Food Handler certification (asset)
- First Aid / CPR (asset)
Skills & Abilities
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ambitious and goal-oriented
- Strong math skills and business relationship-building abilities
- Sound knowledge of wines is essential
Availability
- 5 days per week during the summer season
- Saturdays, Sundays, statutory holidays, and evening shifts year-round
- Jackson-Triggs Concert Days
Working Conditions
- Primary location: Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Winery (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON)
- May be required to support off-site events and activations at partner venues
- Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays (increased hours during peak season)
- Standing/walking for extended periods
- Outdoor work (seasonal operations)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (tables, chairs, signage, glassware, equipment)
- Fast-paced hospitality environment with exposure to varying temperatures
- Must be comfortable working around alcohol service and maintaining Smart Serve standards
- Must follow all workplace health & safety and food safety policies
- Reliable transportation is an asset
